Ryan Whitney fires back hard at Don Sweeney following Jeremy Swayman debacle

Ryan Whitney and Don Sweeney found themselves at odds with one another over some reporting that took place involving the Boston Bruins negotiations with Jeremy Swayman.

If you remember, Whitney came out and said the Bruins offered Swayman four years at $6.2 million AAV. Moreover, he made the claim that Sweeney was not returning any of Swayman's phone calls. It was a wild report that had many Bruins fans flipping out against their General Manager.

However, Sweeney clapped back and claimed that the Spittin Chiclets podcast was just blowing smoke. While he did not name Whitney directly, it was very clear who he was taking shots at. You can see what Sweeney had to say about all of this, in the video clip down below.

In the latest episode of Spittin Chiclets, Ryan Whitney came through with a response to Sweeney. As he explains, Sweeney has never really liked him and he doesn't understand why. Moreover, he believes that Sweeney is simply upset that he botched the contract negotiations and is now taking it out on podcasters and the media as a whole. He even theorized that the Bruins don't actually believe in Swayman very much.

"I stand by what I was told. He's gonna call me a liar, I think he's fudging a little bit Maybe the truth is somewhere in the middle. But I knew the offer and it was a lowball, slap in the face offer and this is a players podcast"
