Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson will play Game 5 against the Florida Panthers after missing Tuesday’s practice due to illness.
Ekman-Larsson was on the ice early ahead of the Leafs’ morning skate on Wednesday, before leaving the ice ahead of the formal session. He took some reps with Simon Benoit, his normal partner, before leaving the ice.

Max Domi, Nick Robertson, Jake McCabe, Simon Benoit, Chris Tanev, Jani Hakanpaa, Calle Jarnkrok, Philippe Myers, Steven Lorentz, Pontus Holmberg, Ryan Reaves, Alex Steeves, Dakota Mermis and Dennis Hildeby were among the participants at Wednesday’s morning skate.
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube hinted at lineup changes for Game 5, but would not confirm who would be potentially coming out of the lineup. David Kampf was offered as a suggestion to come into the lineup, and Berube deferred to the process.
“Game-time decisions. We’ve got decisions. It was an optional skate this morning and we have some decisions to make,” Berube said.
Berube said the game-time decisions are coach’s decisions, as opposed to injury-related decisions.
Kampf hasn’t played in the playoffs, but could slot onto the fourth line and provide some defensive impact. The 30-year-old registered five goals and 13 points in 59 games during the regular season.
Nick Robertson is a potential option to rejoin the lineup. Robertson was replaced by Max Pacioretty for Game 3 of the Maple Leafs’ first-round series against the Ottawa Senators and hasn’t returned to action since. Pacioretty has provided plus-scoring impact, along with a physical presence while primarily paired with John Tavares and William Nylander throughout the playoffs.

Berube refers multiple times to the optional skate, when asked about specific decisions/David Kampf.
