Going into Tuesday night, Perron has three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 25 games this season. Now in his second campaign with the Senators, the 37-year-old winger has 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 68 regular-season games.
Ahead of his 1,200th contest, Perron told NHL.com Senators reporter Andrew Wilimek he’s been looking forward to hitting this particular milestone.
“You know, you just don’t think. You keep playing and playing, trying to stay alive, and next thing you know you get to a milestone and once you hit one, you start looking at the next one,” Perron said on Tuesday. “So, I think especially the way the year went last year, with the injuries and all that, I was looking forward to this one a little bit more now, and it’s nice.”
