It was just a matter of time for Dalibor Dvorsky.

The 10th pick in the 2023 NHL Draft had been kept off the scoresheet in Slovakia's first two games at the IIHF World Junior Championship, but the forward busted out in a big way, and 2023 third-round pick Juraj Pekarcik also scored as Slovakia improved to 3-0-0 with a win over Norway to pace St. Louis Blues prospects in Day 4 on Friday.

* Slovakia 8, Norway 4 -- Dvorsky scored twice and assisted on two others to lead the Slovaks.

Pekarcik, who had an assist in an opening 6-2 win over Czechia, scored on a one-timer from the slot at 14:02 of the first period on a feed from Dvorsky to give Slovakia a 2-1 lead.

Dvorsky then scored his first of the tournament at 3:43 of the second period for a 3-1 lead.

After setting up Peter Repcik for his third point of the game at 12:30 of the second to give Slovakia a 6-1 lead, Dvorsky scored at 13:40 of the third period on a beauty of a wrist shot inside the zone for an 8-2 lead.

Dvorsky finished with four shots, was a plus-1 in 16:48, while Pekarcik had two shots in 14:53 and was even in the game.

* Finland 4, Latvia 0 -- Aleksanteri Kaskimaki (2022 third-round pick) was held off the scoresheet, but the Finns picked up their first win in the tournament.

Kaskimaki, who scored in Finland's opener against Canada, was tied with a team-high five shots in 16:49.

* USA 4, Czechia 3 (SO) -- Jimmy Snuggerud, who had a hat trick as part of his four-point game on Thursday against Switzerland, did not factor in the scoring but was part of USA's seven-round shootout win.

Snuggerud had three shots and was a minus-1 in 22:43 and also missed on his shootout attempt.

Forward Jakub Stancl (2023 sixth-round pick) scored and was a plus-1 in 11:35; he did not take a shootout attempt for Czechia.

Stancl scored from the slot at 15:40 of the first period to tie the game 1-1.

* Sweden 2, Canada 0 -- The Swedes remained perfect, and kept a third straight clean sheet with their statement game of the tournament thus far on their home soil.

Theo Lindstein (2023 first round pick, No. 29 overall), a late replacement due to an injury on the Swedish roster, picked up assists on both goals, and Otto Stenberg (2023 first-round pick, No. 25 overall), who matched Snuggerud's hat trick with one of his own on Thursday, also had an assist.

The Blues prospects teamed up to set up Tom Willander's opening goal 1:53 into the second period for a 1-0 lead.

Lindstein had the secondary assist on Sweden's second goal at 10:39 of the second.

Two games on Saturday do not involve any of the Blues' prospects, but Snuggerud and USA will take on Dvorsky, Pekarcik and Slovakia in the marquee matchup Sunday at 5 a.m. central time, followed by Stenberg, Lindstein and Sweden vs. Kaskimaki and Finland in the Scandinavian bowl at 7:30 a.m., and Stancl and Czechia take on Switzerland at 10 a.m., all on NHL Network in the US and TSN in Canada.
