After retiring from his playing career in 2016, Jackman has served in various roles within the Blues’ organization. This includes time in player development and on the organization’s alumni board.
Jackman spent 13 seasons in the NHL. His first 12 were with the Blues. He is the latest Blue to win the Calder Trophy, winning it in 2002-03. Jackman’s last season was spent with the Nashville Predators.
In his time wearing the Blue Note, Jackman 181 points and 1,026 penalty minutes. He ranks second on the Blues all-time franchise list in games played, as well as the most by a defenceman. In addition, his 1,026 penalty minutes are the fourth most in franchise history. Not known as a goal scorer, Jackman did manage two game-winning goals in the playoffs with the Blues, including one in overtime.
Jackman will oversee all aspects of the Blues Alumni Association and charitable work. The former defenceman will also serve as group’s liaison with the Blues organization. Futhermore, Jackman will also work to maintain resource for past Blues’ players to receive mental, physical, and wellness support, and to keep them involved with the organization.
Jackman will not undergo this new responsibility alone. Joining Jackman is senior coordinator Maddie Nash, daughter of Blues alum Tyson Nash, who served in the same role under Affleck.
In addition to his new role, Jackman will continue to serve as the President of the Blues Alumni Board. The board includes multiple former Blues, including Kelly Chase, Paul Cavallini, Jamal Mayers, Chris Pronger, Paul Stastny, and Joe Vitale.
