Blues 2021 seventh-round pick Ivan Vorobyov scored twice for Khimik Voskresensk in Russia’s second-tier VHL, though the team fell 4–3. The 23-year-old forward now has eight goals and 15 points in 16 games this season.

His first goal tied the game at one in the first period, coming on a sharp-angle shot from behind the goal line that banked in off the goalie’s back as he slid to get back in his crease. His second goal came in the second period, giving them a 3–2 lead. He received a pass from the left circle while cutting to the net and finished with an easy backdoor tap-in.

Vorobyov has played a total of 93 games in the KHL having a toal of 43 points. He has spent most of his career in the VHL and MHL still trying to work his way up to a set role in the KHL or in North America.

Will McIsaac is Catching Fire

2024 fifth-round pick Will McIsaac recorded two goals and an assist for the Spokane Chiefs (WHL), helping power an 8–3 win over the Portland Winterhawks on Friday. He also finished the night at plus-4.

McIsaac’s goal came late in the first period when he collected the puck in the high slot and snapped a shot past the goaltender to give Spokane a 2–0 lead.

The 19-year-old defenseman now has four goals and 14 points in 29 games. After a slow start to the season in a primarily defensive role, McIsaac has begun to make a more noticeable impact offensively over the past few games.

Colin Ralph Defense is Next Level

2024 second-round pick Colin Ralph has been logging heavy minutes for Michigan State this season. At just 20 years old, he is still a younger player in the NCAA, yet has already established himself as a steady force on the defensive end. While he hasn’t contributed much offensively, Ralph has one goal and four assists through 16 games and carries a +8 rating while routinely matching up against top competition.

Michigan State is currently ranked No. 3 in the country and faces elite programs on a weekly basis, yet opponents have consistently struggled to generate chances against Ralph and his defensive partner. At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, he brings a physical presence that keeps the front of the net clear and pairs that size with surprisingly strong skating ability.

Love Harenstam Continues to Prove Himself

2025 sixth-round pick Love Harenstam has not slowed down in Sweden’s second-tier league, HockeyAllsvenskan. On Saturday, he turned in another strong performance, recording a shutout while stopping all 15 shots he faced.

On the season, the 18-year-old owns a 1.90 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage, along with three shutouts. Given his age and continued success, it would not be surprising to see Harenstam earn a move to Sweden’s top league (SHL) in the near future, or potentially make the jump to the United States within the Blues’ affiliate system.

Two Thunderbids Scored First AHL Goals

2023 seventh-round pick Nikita Susuev and 2022 fifth-round pick Marc-Andre Gaudet each scored their first AHL goals on Saturday, helping lift the Springfield Thunderbirds to a 3–2 win over the Utica Comets.

After 14 games, Susuev finally broke onto the scoresheet early in the third period to tie the game at two. He drove hard to the net, pulled a rebound loose, and wrapped it around the post to tuck it in. The goal gives him one goal and five assists in 14 games with Springfield.

About seven minutes later Gaudet gave the Thunderbirds the lead 3-2 with a one-time from the point. This ended up being the game winning goal. He now has one goal and six assists in 12 games in Springfield.

With several Springfield players being called up to St. Louis, the Thunderbirds have needed others to step up. This is only the beginning for more of these players to shine and show what they can do.
