Dallas defenseman Lian Bichsel hobbled off the ice with 4:21 remaining in the second period of the Stars' home game against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night.
Seconds after Wyatt Johnston's goal put Dallas in front 3-1, the blueliner was sending the puck from the red line to the Senators' end. Bichsel had a slight collision with Ottawa forward Fabian Zetterlund and then hit the boards.
Dallas later took a 4-1 lead on Johnston's second goal of the game at the 2:52 mark of the third period.
The Stars already have dealt with lower-body injuries to defensemen Thomas Harley and Nils Lundkvist, who are both out. Ilya Lyubushkin returned to action on Sunday after missing the previous six games with a lower-body injury.
Bichsel, 21, entered the night with three points (one goal, two assists), a plus-6 rating, 22 penalty minutes, 24 blocks and 85 hits while averaging 16:04 time on the ice in 25 games this season.
For his career, he entered Sunday with 12 points (five goals, seven assists), a plus-8 rating, 63 penalty minutes, 47 blocks, 240 hits and 15:21 average ice time in 63 regular-season games.
Dallas selected Bichsel, a native of Switzerland, with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.
