Stars' Jason Robertson Reacts to Historic Mikko Rantanen Streak

The Dallas Stars took down the Winnipeg Jets in Game 1 of their postseason series, stealing home-ice advantage away from Winnipeg. It was an exciting game all around, but was highlighted by the play from star Mikko Rantanen.

Rantanen scored another hat trick for the Stars, helping to propel them to win Game 1. This was his second hat trick in as many games, as he scored three goals to help Dallas win Game 7 of the first round.

With the incredible production from Rantanen, he has now factored into each of the Stars’ past 12 goals. This is now the longest streak by a player in playoff history.

Stars forward Jason Robertson was in awe upon learning this and reacted to the news.

“Twelve straight? Yeah, I’ve never heard of that,” said Stars forward Jason Robertson, who loves a good hockey statistic. “There you go. I mean, we’ll take it.

“He’s a premier player. He gets good bounces and I’m sure everyone else will get good bounces, too. He’s working hard, everyone else is working hard and I’m sure everyone in here is itching to take the load off him. But we’re happy to take his performances and we’ll just find ways to win.”

Rantanen seems to be on a solid run right now, and the Stars are going to see how far he can take them. Dallas would love nothing more than to steal both games on the road, and they are playing like a very confident group right now.

Game 2 between these two squads is set to kick off on Friday, May 9, at 9:30 p.m. ET.
