According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Dallas Stars have placed forward Harrison Scott on waivers. Scott began the year on Dallas’ season-opening injured reserve with an undisclosed preseason injury.
Scott, 26, is looking to begin his third season with the Stars organization after signing as a collegiate free agent toward the end of the 2024-25 season. Despite beginning his collegiate career at Bentley University, Scott transferred to the University of Maine for his junior and senior seasons. In his two years with the Black Bears, Scott registered 33 goals and 62 points in 75 games with a +19 rating. After signing with Dallas, he went scoreless in six games with the AHL’s Texas Stars with a -6 rating.
Despite looking out of place through his first handful of AHL appearances, Scott looked much better in his first full professional campaign. The San Jose, CA, native proved a solid tertiary contributor for the AHL Stars, finishing the 2025-26 campaign with 18 goals and 32 points in 72 games with a -3 rating. Unfortunately, he went scoreless in five postseason contests.
Assuming he clears waivers within the next 24 hours, Scott will aim to build on his rookie season in the AHL. The AHL Stars have struggled at the start of the season, holding a record of 1-2-0-1 with a -6 goal differential. Although he has some defensive deficiencies, Scott should help Texas raise their offensive ceiling through the rest of the 2026-27 season.
