Stars’ Roope Hintz exits Game 4 vs. Avalanche with upper-body injury

Hintz has tallied two goals and four assists for six points in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, he ranks tied for fifth among Stars’ skaters with veteran Tyler Seguin.

The 27-year-old notched 30 goals and 35 assists for 65 points in 80 games this season. This was Hintz’s third straight 30-goal campaign, he set a career-high of 37 goals in back-to-back seasons.

Hintz is coming off his best season in the NHL, as he had 37 goals, 38 assists and 75 points in 73 games in the 2022-23 season. It’s the second time he’s finished above a point per game in a season, as he also had 43 points in 41 games in 2020-21. He also continued that play into the playoffs, where he had 10 goals, 14 assists and 24 points in 19 games as the Stars were eliminated in the Western Conference Final by the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Stars currently lead the Avalanche 2-1 in the series and Game 5 will be Wednesday, May 15 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
