On Wednesday, the Dallas Stars revealed their training camp roster for the 2025-26 season.

Among the usual names, a few players are heading to Texas on professional tryouts. Forwards Adam Erne and Cross Hanas, along with defenseman Anthony Cristoforo and goaltender Antoine Bibeau, are joining the team on PTOs.

Erne is the name of this bunch that has the best chance to make the team out of camp. He was able to accomplish the feat in the fall of 2023, going from a PTO with the Edmonton Oilers to a contract. However, he spent most of that season with the Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers’ American Hockey League affiliate. Last year, he attended the New York Rangers’ camp before signing an AHL deal with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Erne has appeared in 382 NHL games, scoring 41 goals and 50 assists for 91 points.

At one point, Hanas was regarded as a promising scoring prospect with the Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks. However, injuries hindered his development with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Detroit Red Wings’ primary affiliate. In three pro seasons, he has yet to make it to the NHL. In 146 AHL appearances, he has notched 26 goals and 24 assists for 50 points.

Bibeau is returning to North America after spending the last couple of years overseas. The former Toronto Maple Leafs prospect spent the 2023-24 season in Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan with AIK before joining Liiga side KooKoo in Finland last year. He last appeared on this side of the pond with the Belleville Senators, the Ottawa Senators’ top farm team, during the 2022-23 campaign.

Bibeau has seen NHL action with the Leafs, San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche. In four games, he has a 2-1-0 record with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.

Cristoforo is looking to break into the pro ranks. The undrafted 19-year-old has spent the past three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s Windsor Spitfires and is coming off the best performance of his junior career. In 65 games last season, Cristoforo set career highs in goals (12), assists (49) and points (61). Along with his junior experience, the Vaughan, Ont. native has also represented his country, winning the silver medal with Canada Red at the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge before taking home the gold at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

The Stars camp is scheduled to take place at the Comerica Center in Frisco from Sept. 18 to Oct. 4.
