Hyry’s new deal carries an NHL AAV of $900,000. The first year is a two-way contract, while year two is a one-way deal. The 2025-26 season was the first time he saw considerable time with the Stars, as most of his first two seasons of pro hockey in North America had been with the Texas Stars, Dallas’ American Hockey League affiliate.
In 20 regular-season games with Dallas, the Finnish winger scored three goals and two assists for five points. He had a plus/minus of +1 while averaging 11:47 of ice time per game. He also appeared in four of the team’s first five games of the its opening-round series of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Minnesota Wild. However, he suffered an injury in Game 5, which knocked him out for the rest of the series, and the Stars were knocked out in six games.
Hyry also scored nine goals and 19 points in 27 games with Texas.
In 32 games in the NHL, the 25-year-old has posted six points. In 94 regular-season games in the AHL, he has notched 33 goals and 35 assists for 68 points, with another six points in 14 Calder Cup Playoff games.
Shlaine is coming off an impressive rookie campaign with Texas. In 67 games, he scored 19 goals and 38 points, finishing tied for fourth on the team in scoring. He helped the Baby Stars finish third in the Central Division. He potted three goals and four points in the division finals against the Chicago Wolves, though Texas was eliminated in five games.
Halverson comes to the Stars organization after spending the last three years in the Tampa Bay Lightning system. He has appeared in three games with the Bolts over the past three years, going 0-1-0 with a 4.22 goals-against average and an .810 save percentage. In 43 games with the Syracuse Crunch, he went 24-11-0, with a 2.42 GAA, a .905 SV% and six shutouts, helping the team finish second in the North Division. However, he and the Crunch were upended in the division finals by the Cleveland Monsters.
In four NHL appearances, the 30-year-old has an 0-2-0 record, with a 4.69 GAA and a .804 SV%. In 152 regular-season games in the AHL, he is 71-54-28, with a 2.67 GAA, a .903 SV% and 12 shutouts.
