The Carolina Hurricanes are down 2-0 in their series against Florida, but when addressing the deficit, Taylor Hall has taken a subtle shot at the Maple Leafs.
After rolling into the Eastern Conference Finals, the Carolina Hurricanes have been dominated through two games, falling to an 0-2 deficit at home as they now hit the road looking to get back into their series with the Florida Panthers.
When addressing the possibility of that, Hurricanes veteran Taylor Hall took a subtle shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs when nothing that this Panthers team isn't perfect and can be beaten.
"I mean, they just went seven games against the Leafs, right? They're not a perfect hockey team and we know that there are areas to exploit, like any team.'
Unfortunately for Carolina as one fan pointed out on social media, they don't have the elite talent that Toronto do with the likes of Nylander, Matthews and Marner, as they've relied on their defense to get things done, and with the team allowing 10 goals through two games, they're showing that they can't rely on that.
Heading down to Florida, the 'Canes are going to be dragged into Florida's game, and if they want to make it out of the East and stop their 14-game losing streak in the Eastern Conference Finals, they'll need to find a way to start consistently scoring goals.
It's unclear why Hall wanted to take a shot at the Maple Leafs after falling 2-0 in their series against Florida, scoring just 2 goals in that time, as Toronto appear to be the much better team than Carolina, but if this somehow gets the 'Canes back into this series, then Hall's comments will have accomplished their goal.
