The Vegas Golden Knights entered the Western Conference Finals of the Stanley Cup Finals as long-shots to defeat the top-seeded Colorado Avalanche.
But the Golden Knights took a 3-0 lead on the road in the third period of Game 1. The Avs made Vegas sweat with two quick goals to make the score 3-2, but an empty-netter sealed the victory for Vegas.
While the Avalanche’s dominance through the first two rounds of the playoffs (not to mention their President’s Trophy for most points in the regular season) made them a popular choice to reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
But after the win, the rest of the NHL should be on notice. After their Game 1 victory, the Knights now boast the postseason's leader in points (Mitch Marner: 19), assists (Jack Eichel: 15) and goals with Pavel Dorofeyev, who scored his 10th of the playoffs to give Vegas a 2-0 lead in the second period.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Dorofeyev is now the 40th active NHL player with at least 10 goals in a single Stanley Cup Playoff run. How many of those players can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
