Congratulations to Pittsburgh Penguins legend Sidney Crosby on passing hall of famer Mario Lemieux for first place on the Penguins all-time points list! With an assist to Rickard Rakell in the first period of the Penguins 4-3 win over Montreal on Sunday, Crosby recorded the 1,724th point of his illustrious 21-year career.
Whenever Crosby eventually hangs up his skates, he’ll retire as one of the most productive Penguins in franchise history. He’s long since passed Lemieux in total assists (1,079 to 1,033) and sits 45 goals behind “Le Magnifique,” for the Pittsburgh record in that category. He’s also the longest-ever tenured Penguin, playing his entire career and winning three Stanley Cups in the Steel City.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players with the most points for each NHL franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
