The Leafs' Second Line of McMann, Nylander and Domi May Have the Best Nickname in the NHL

The Maple Leafs' new second line of Max Domi, William Nylander and Bobby McMann has quickly received a new nickname and it may be the best in the NHL.

Thrown together almost out of necessity when John Tavares was unavailable for the home opener due to illness, the trio of McMann, Domi and Nylander has been excellent. Through two games together, the trio has combined for 10 points, including 6 points on Wednesday during the Leafs' 6-2 victory over the LA Kings.

Although they have only been together for two games, the line already has a slick new nickname and is now known as the 'BMW' line, per Sportsnet's Luke Fox.

Following their 6-point night Wednesday, Nylander commented on the early success of the 'BMW' line.

'We got a lot of speed, creating a lot of chances. I think we're playing great and love the chemistry that we have.'

McMann had agreed with Nylander regarding the line's speed, but added being hard on pucks has been a major reason for their success.

'We're just skating. We're just hard on pucks, pushing their D back, trying to get first touch a lot. And, obviously, I'm playing with two really good guys that were able to make plays, and fortunately a couple found the back of the net.'

The quick success of the trio has inadvertently given head coach Craig Berube the ability to once again have Tavares center the third line and spread out the 'Core Four'. It also leaves the Leafs with a handful of questions when Calle Jarnkrok and Connor Dewar return from injury as to who fits where in their lineup. This will likely lead to some sort of trade to free up cap space and alleviate an unnecessary roster logjam.

For now, though, the Leafs will continue to roll out the 'BMW' line when they host the New York Rangers on Saturday.
