When the puck drops for the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New York Rangers on NHL’s Opening Night, future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby will begin his 21st season.
At 38 years old, Crosby has already won three Stanley Cups, two Hart Trophies for NHL MVP and two Art Ross trophies for being the league’s top point-scorer. But with the Penguins coming off of a 34-36-12 record in 2024 and missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs third-straight year, there’s been some rumbling over the offseason that Crosby’s future may not reside in Pittsburgh.
But ahead of the start of the regular season, Penguins reporter Josh Yohe of The Athletic said he doesn’t “think Crosby is going anywhere.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Among Crosby’s many career accomplishments are two Maurice Richard Trophies – going to the NHL’s top goal-scorer – in 2009 and 2016. With that being said, can you name every Maurice Ricard Trophy winner since it was first awarded in 1988-99 can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
