The 'Multiple 50-goal NHL seasons' quiz

Behind two goals and three total points from captain Auston Matthews, Team USA men’s hockey routed Germany 5-1 to finish the group stage of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics undefeated.

After the win that secured the United States the second-seed in the knockout stages, Matthews talked about how the team is gelling together in such a short time.

“The chemistry, just being comfortable with one another, playing with new guys that maybe you’re not as used to playing with — each game I think we’ve taken steps in the right direction of where we want to grow our game going into the quarterfinals, and it’s good to see,” the Maple Leafs star said.

Team USA outscored Latvia, Denmark and Germany a combined 16-4, with Matthews tallying five points on those 16 goals as the Americans search for their first medal at the Winter Olympics in men’s ice hockey since Vancouver 2010. They await the winner of Latvia and Sweden in the quarter finals.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. If the Americans are going to win gold in Milan, they’ll likely need Matthews to continue finding the back of the net as he has for his entire career. With that being said, can you name the NHL players with multiple 50-goal seasons?

Good luck!
