The 'NHL Norris Trophy winners' quiz

Team USA men’s hockey team was less than two minutes from advancing to the Olympic semifinals with a 1-0 win over Sweden before New York Rangers center Mika Zibanejad tied the game to keep the Swedes alive. 

But on an extended shift in the 3-on-3 overtime period, Minnesota’s Quinn Hughes  rocketed a shot past goaltender Gabriel Landeskog and off the pipe to keep the Americans in medal contention. 

“I think he’s a game-changer,” said Team USA head coach Mike Sullivan after the win. 

“He is, whether it be with our transition game or jumping off the blue line, a unique player. To have him as part of this group this year is, I think, a huge boost for us.” 

Next up for the U.S. is a clash with Slovakia on Friday, who beat Germany 6-2 in their quarterfinal matchup and have seven NHL players on their roster.
