John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer may have played soulmates Jim and Pam on the iconic series “The Office,” but the two actors will now assume the role of rivals thanks to the upcoming showdown between the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Final.
Krasinski was born and raised in Newton, Mass., a suburb of Boston; Fischer, meanwhile, hails from St. Louis, Miss..
The two actors, upon realizing the chase for the Cup pits them against one another, took to Twitter to highlight the split.

NBC Sports Boston perhaps set the stage best with a GIF from “The Office” in which Jim and Pam are not necessarily seeing eye to eye, albeit in the couple’s classically adorable playful manner.

Puck drop in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final comes Monday night when the Bruins host the Blues at TD Garden. Perhaps Krasinski and Fischer will set their loyalties aside and take in the game together. Better yet, how about the two plan a reunion of the entire cast from “The Office” — who remain remarkably close after all these years — so they can all watch together?
One thing is certain: Such a Stanley Cup viewing party with “The Office” gang would go dramatically better than when Gabe hosted one that time for an episode of “Glee.” That was a disaster.
