As we reported in the past few hours, we had quite a scare during the Montreal Canadiens' practice.

It was reported that Justin Barron made direct contact with Patrik Laine's knee.

It was truly a contact that could have had serious consequences.

The RDS network shared the footage of the incident in question.

We can understand why all the players and fans held their breath and described it as a concerning scene.

It was indeed knee-on-knee contact, and it could have ended very badly for the Montreal Canadiens forward.

One has to wonder how Barron ended up in that situation, as it was a pretty dangerous move, but it must also be said that it seemed to happen very quickly.

Laine, 26 years old, is a 6-foot-4, 208-pound forward. The second overall pick by the Winnipeg Jets in 2016 has accumulated 388 points (204 goals) in 480 career games in the NHL.

It is expected that he will play his first game of the season very soon, according to latest reports.

After this incident with Barron, Laine temporarily retreated to his bench but returned to the ice afterward and seemed to be fine.
