The Edmonton Oilers finished a three-game homestead and had a strong week in the process. Starting week #4, the Oilers found themselves at home in Rogers Place, playing against one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now, the Utah Mammoth.
The Oilers started their three-game road trip with a win and went 2–1 in the process. The Oilers star players were very solid in this game and the goaltending was a little bit questionable.
Edmonton walked away with a 6–3 victory, with goals from Connor McDavid, Mattias Ekholm, Isaacc Howard, Leon Draisaitl, and Ty Emberson. McDavid and Draisaitl combined for three goals, while the defenceman combined for two. The Oilers outshot the Senators 24–23. Mattias Ekholm was the first star of the game, Leon Draisaitl was the second, and Jake Walman was the third star.
Next up on the week, the Oilers saw a matchup against one of the original six teams, the New York Rangers. There were quite a few goals scored in this game, with Edmonton ending up losing by a final score of 4–3 in overtime.
The Oilers received their goals from two different scorers. Darnell Nurse and Matthew Savoie (who scored his first career NHL goal) all found the back of the net. Edmonton outshot Montreal 36–35 and has continued to show defensive scoring. Adam Henrique was the first star of the game, while Nurse was the second star.
Game three in week three and the final game, saw the Oilers come face-to-face with the Chicago Blackhawks. Edmonton found a way to win this game and Stuart Skinner was stellar as well. The Oilers won in overtime with a final score of 3–2.
The Oilers received their three goals of the game from three of their players. Connor McDavid shined in this game with one primary and two secondary assists. Edmonton outshot Chicago 30–29 and again, won this game in extra time.
Let’s keep the hype going all season long and revisit the highlights of the week. Here are the top goal, assist, and save of the week.

Next up on the Edmonton Oilers’ schedule, will see them head on a mini two-game road trip, with three games this week. The Oilers are set to play these three games in six days and will match up against the St. Louis Blues and two of their division rivals, Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche.
The Oilers’ first game of week four and first of their two-game road trip will see them go head-to-head against the music city Blues.
St. Louis is off to a very rough start this season with an 3–7–2 record through their first twelve games of the season, which currently finds them 31 across the entire league. Jordan Kyrou is off to a slower start this season compared to last year, as he currently leads the Blues in points with four goals and four assists for eight points through twelve games.
The Oilers’ second game of regular season week four will see them match up against a division rival, the Dallas Stars.
Last season, the Oilers finished with one win and two losses, thanks to one road loss and one home loss. The only win happened on March 8, 2025 at home. In that game against the stars, Dallas was outshot 27–25 and Connor Brown was able to score the game winning goal with 2:20 remaining in the second period.
The Oilers’ third and final game of week four will see them match up against yet another one of their division rivals, the Colorado Avalanche.
Last season, the Oilers finished with two wins and one loss, with both wins taking place on the road. The only loss happened on February 7, 2025, with the Avalanche winning 5–4. In those games against Colorado, Edmonton outscored them 12–9.
The Oilers have seemed to be getting consistent offence and goals from their defencemen and Leon Draisaitl is currently on an eight-game point streak (12 points), with Connor McDavid slowly starting to heat up. Oilers fans! Let me know what your thoughts are on the week ahead.
