Oilers star Connor McDavid has been suspended.

Monday night, the NHL Department of Player Safety dropped the bomb: multi-game suspensions for both superstars Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers.

Although many were expecting suspensions, the time was surprising. Some people felt that the decisions by Gary Bettman and the NHL Department of Player Safety were uncalled for in their decision-making.

Some have reacted with utter disgust regarding McDavid's suspension, stating that if the referees had called an appropriate penalty, then the result would never have happened in the first place.

After the Oilers released a bizarre statement on the matter, McDavid broke his silence on his suspension. He took the high road and offered sage advice that the Oilers would be wise to take.

However, despite McDavid's classy approach, a story came through from the "2 Mutts Hockey Podcast," which has ties to the Edmonton Oilers organization, that McDavid is becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of protection for star players.

Connor McDavid could scale back his participation in league events

Via a post on X, McDavid and his camp were reportedly considering any number of options, scaling back the amount he participates with the league in promotional events and media interviews.

That is a huge deal for McDavid and the Oilers, let alone the league since that involves one of the league's biggest superstars.
