Toronto Maple Leafs Place Two on Waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs today placed a forward and a defenseman on waivers, hoping to send them to their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. The forward is David Kampf, while the defenseman is William Villenueve. Kampf this preseason in two games, has recorded an assist and was a plus-two. Villenueve played in one preseason game, scoring a goal on his lone shot.

David Kampf

Kampf played in 59 games for the Maple Leafs last season, recording 13 points on five goals and eight assists. He was a minus-one with a shorthanded goal. Kampf has recorded 143 points on 48 goals and 95 assists in 536 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. He is a -16 with four shorthanded goals and five game-winning goals.

William Villeneuve

Villeneuve, in 55 games for the Marlies last season, recorded 40 points on four goals and 36 assists. He was a +17 with two power-play goals and a game-winning goal. The Maple Leafs drafted him 122nd overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In 165 games for the Marlies, he’s recorded 90 points on nine goals and 81 assists. He is a +28 with three power-play goals and two game-winning goals.
