The U.S. men’s hockey team will have made multiple stops by the time they’re done with their victory tour. And, if a certain source is to be believed, their appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ will probably not rank among their favorite.

According to a Daily Mail report, at least one team member received loud boos during a certain segment. Fortunately, it wasn’t shown on TV.

“USA hockey star Quinn Hughes was left ‘visibly uncomfortable’ after being booed during Saturday Night Live rehearsals at the weekend, a source has told Daily Mail,” the outlet claims

While Team USA brought home the first hockey gold medal for the country since the 1980 “Miracle on Ice,” they’ve been met with widespread criticism . That’s because they spoke to President Donald Trump over the phone and laughed when he joked about being forced to invite the women’s team to the White House.

Trump claimed that he would be impeached otherwise.

The men’s contingent attended the President’s State of the Union address, earning even more flak. The women’s team declined the invite

The Mail’s source said Quinn was loudly booed while rehearsing with Connor Storrie.

“The audience booed very loudly and he looked very visibly uncomfortable,” they relayed. “I don’t know if it was the entire studio but it was LOUD and sounded plentiful.

“He didn’t make a face face but you could very clearly tell he looked at the very least uncomfortable.”

The source added:

“I think at least from personal thoughts and feelings that it wasn’t so much the call but how [the team] reacted and how since they really have taken no accountability for what they did was hurtful, especially since a few men on the team have come forward saying they shouldn’t have laughed at Trump’s joke because they do respect the women, their achievements and how hard they work.”

The interaction with Trump has taken a bit of the shine off those gold medals. They’d do well to keep the cameras off next time.
