First, the Carolina Hurricanes announced a signing in net, bringing in the former Canadiens goalie.
"The Hurricanes have signed goalie Dustin Tokarski to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 in the NHL and $100,000 in the AHL."- David Pagnotta
Let's remember they are dealing with significant injuries in net, including Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov.
"The Hurricanes have signed veteran goalie Dustin Tokarski to a two-way contract for the remainder of the season - giving them more depth with Frederik Andersen injured.Tokarski was already part of the organization on an AHL deal."
- Chris Johnston
We also have action on that front, notably involving Tokarski.
Tokarski and Daniil Chayka have been placed on NHL waivers.
Chayka, 22, is a 6-foot-3, 204-pound defenseman. He was a second-round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021 (38th overall) and has recorded one point in five AHL games this season.
Tokarski, 35, is a 6-foot, 198-pound goalie. He holds a 4-1-0 record this season in the American Hockey League, with a 1.61 goals-against average and a .933 save percentage.
A situation to watch over the next few hours.
