The Utah Mammoth have signed forward Caleb Desnoyers to a three-year, entry-level contract. The contract will start in the 2026-2027 season and has a $1.075 million cap hit, per Puckpedia.

Caleb Desnoyers Signs ELC with Utah Mammoth

Desnoyers, 18, is one of Utah’s top NHL prospects. He was selected fourth overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The Mammoth moved up 10 picks that year by winning the second drawing of the NHL’s draft lottery. The 6-foot-2, 173-pound centre posted 22 goals and 56 assists in 45 games during 2025-2026 for the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats. He’ll remain with Moncton as they compete in the playoffs as the number one seed. Desnoyers is the team’s captain.

Mammoth GM Bill Armstrong spoke highly of their prospect after signing:

“We are thrilled to sign Caleb to an NHL contract. “Caleb is an incredibly skilled player who has seen much success throughout his junior career with Moncton. He has an extremely bright future ahead and we look forward to watching him play for the Mammoth for years to come.”

What It Means

Desnoyers is mostly known for his playmaking ability, but he has a strong two-way game as well. He’s very creative when it comes to finding passing lanes and perfectly timing them.

As for his two-way game, Desnoyers is defensively reliable and good in the faceoff dot. With his size, he’s not afraid of taking hits to make plays.

The signing also means that Desnoyers isn’t allowed to play in the NCAA. It’s unclear at this time where he’ll report next season. However, the odds are high that Desnoyers makes Utah’s roster out of training camp in October. If not, he’ll likely head to Tucson in the AHL.
