Vancouver Canucks Name Two-Time Stanley Cup Champion Head Coach to Replace Rick Tocchet

Rick Tocchet has just found his new NHL home, and moments later, the Vancouver Canucks have officially announced a high profile replacement.

The Vancouver Canucks have been in a downwards spiral for the past 12 months, with the team following up their solid Stanley Cup Playoffs performance with a year that many would love to forget.

In that time, they've moved on from J.T. Miller, will likely lose Brock Boeser and could be preparing to lose Quinn Hughes as well, and after attempting to re-sign Head Coach Rick Tocchet, he walked away, and officially found his new home early on Wednesday.

Now, the team have wasted no time in announcing his replacement, as TSN's Darren Dreger has revealed that it will be two-time Stanley Cup Champion Adam Foote that will be the franchise's next Head Coach.

After a stellar career, Dreger got into coaching with the Colorado Avalanche, being a defensive coach for six years before being hired by the WHL's Kelowna Rockets, and upon departure, he was hired by the Canucks as an assistant under Tocchet.

Now, with no Head Coach experience beyond that stint in Kelowna, he's set to take over as the Head Coach of the Canucks, a team that are desperate for some good news given their fall off in the past 12 months.

Clearly the locker room must like Foote for the Canucks to make that move, and given all of his experience and his success, that should come as no surprise, and with everything falling around this team, we will now wait and see if he can be the coach to lead them back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs and give them some stability.
