Ducks' Trevor Zegras had one of the best assists of all time

Trevor Zegras is a freak.

Just 48 games into his NHL career, he’s showing off elite offensive talent that few in the league can match. Night in and night out, he’s showing those talents and not shying away from being creative, either.

And Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, he put it on full display.

In the second period, Zegras held the puck behind the Sabres net and picked the puck up with his stick looking like he was going to try to score a Michigan-style goal.

Instead, Zegras flipped it over the net, where linemate Sonny Milano was able to bat it in.

It’s a move that former superstar Pavel Datsyuk tried a number of times, but was never able to convert on. Nonetheless, this has to go down as one of the nicest assists of all time in the NHL.
