Watch: Bruins coach gets hilariously animated while campaigning for penalty call

A big part of being an NHL head coach in the Stanley Cup playoffs is trying to work the officials for calls. It's usually part of a news conference after the game or an off day. Boston Bruins coach Jim Montgomery took it to a more extreme — and hilarious — level in Game 5 of their game against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.

Montgomery was especially irked that Bruins forward Mason Lohrei's hooking penalty was not accompanied by a diving penalty on the Panthers. He decided to use some visuals.

He really wanted that embellishment call. He did not get it.

Montgomery and the Bruins have been especially frustrated with the officiating and the NHL overall in this series.

They lost star winger Brad Marchand for Games 4 and 5 after a cheap shot from Panthers forward Sam Bennett that went unpunished. Then Bennett scored a huge goal in Game 4 on a controversial call that did not result in goalie interference. The Bruins' failed challenge on that play resulted in a delay-of-game penalty that helped swing the game in Florida's favor.
