Watch: Flyers’ Joel Farabee fights Flames’ Lindholm; Stands up for York

Farabee wasted no time jumping in for the injured York, landing a few clean rights before Lindholm pressed the escape button and wrestled Farabee to the ground. Lindholm was initially called for a five-minute major penalty, but the call was later changed to two minutes for roughing, two minutes for elbowing, and five minutes for fighting. The Flyers came away with a power play out of all of that, but lost Farabee for 10 minutes for a misconduct in addition to his five for fighting and an instigator penalty.

The Flyers did not score on the ensuing power play, but fortunately York returned after a few minutes in the locker room. As for Farabee, his fight with Lindholm was the 10th of his NHL career. His last fight was against Alex DeBrincat on March 30, which means this fight was his first of the 2023-24 season. It’s also worth noting that Farabee fought Flames center Nazem Kadri, back when Kadri was a member of the Colorado Avalanche. Kadri got into it with Garnet Hathaway a few times, but history did not end up repeating itself (at the time of this writing, anyway). The Flyers finished the second period tied at 2-2 after a late Sean Couturier power play goal.
