Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark made franchise and NHL history on Saturday night after scoring an empty-net goal against the Vancouver Canucks.
With the Bruins nursing a one-goal lead and under a minute to go, Ullmark was able to steady a loose puck before rifling it down the ice into a waning Canucks cage, sealing Boston's victory with 48 seconds on the clock.

Ullmark's goal helped him etch his name into the Bruins record books, becoming the first Boston netminder to score a goal in the illustrious 99-year history of the club.
An excited Ullmark revealed after the game that not only was he unsure where his shot was going, but he thought the puck had ended up in his net before all the chaos.
"I didn't see it. As soon as I shot, I see three guys jumping towards me," Ullmark told reporters via the Bruins Twitter account. "I had no idea where it was."
The 29-year-old is the 14th goalie in NHL history to tally a goal and the first since Pekka Rinne in 2020. Ullmark's feat also holds an important distinction as only the ninth goalie goal to come off an actual shot.

Last was Pekka Rinne in Jan. 2020.
Ullmark continued his outstanding season on Saturday night, stopping 26 of 27 Canucks' shots. With the win, Ullmark became the first goalie in the NHL to reach 30 wins this season, improving to 30-4-1.
The 29-year-old has won eight starts in a row and leads the NHL in goals against average (1.88) and save percentage (.937).
Ullmark and the Bruins remain the frontrunner atop the NHL standings. At 45-8-5, the Bruins own the best mark in the league and have nine more points than the Carolina Hurricanes (39-11-8), who have the second-most points in the NHL with 86.
