Two teams seem to have the Wild's number this season, and one of them is the Kings, who swept the Wild with a pair of victories in three days during Minnesota's temporary stay in Los Angeles.

After beating Minnesota 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday night, the Kings took the Wild down 4-2 on Monday night. The difference in the game was probably the fact that Minnesota went 1 for 6 on the power play, though Wild coach John Hynes chalked it up to a lousy second period.

“I liked our first. I thought the third period, we made a good push. Second period we got outplayed, and to me, that was the story of the game,” Hynes said.

The game was scoreless until Warren Foegele put L.A. up 1-0 at 15:34 of the second period. Just over two minutes later, former Wild winger Kevin Fiala made it 2-0.

Jared Spurgeon cut the deficit in half at 5:55 of the third period, but the Kings reclaimed a two-goal cushion when Andrei Kuzmenko beat Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson for a 3-1 lead.

The only power-play goal of the night for the Wild came when Ryan Hartman scored with 4:39 left in the game. It came after a double-minor was called on the Kings for a high stick that cut Marcus Johansson's face, forcing him to leave the game.

"You know what, I know we’re going to look at [the power play], it went 1 for 6," Hynes said. "We definitely need to generate more, but I will say we scored one, [Joe Eriksson Ek] hits the post, we had a couple other looks. But when you have that many, you either have to score or generate more than we did."

Minnesota is 1-1-1 against the Kings this season. The other team that has their number? The San Jose Sharks, whom the Wild are 0-0-3 against.

The Wild's six-game points streak (3-0-3) was snapped with the loss, but they're still 25-11-8 overall, and their 58 points are tied with the Dallas Stars for the second most in the NHL this season.

Up next: Wild at Seattle, 9 p.m. CT on Thursday.
