A couple of injury notes for the team in the State of Hockey.
The most notable update from the Minnesota Wild is that forward Ryan Hartman is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Hartman suffered the ailment this past Sunday in a game against the Vegas Golden Knights, leaving the game around the halfway mark of the third period. There were signs that Hartman was in pain when taking his last shift on the top line with Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello. The 31-year-old registered just 12:30 of ice time, the second-lowest playing time of the season so far, across 15 shifts.
Minnesota went on to win the game, 3-2, in overtime, giving the team back-to-back victories.
Hartman had played in each of the Wild’s first 20 games of the 2025-26 regular season, having scored four goals and three assists for seven points. He’s a little off the scoring pace that he had last year, where he notched 11 goals and 26 points in 69 contests.
With Hartman out, Danila Yurov is expected to fill in the center role on the Wild’s top line.
In other news, forward Vladimir Tarasenko was seen on the ice at practice on Tuesday. The Russian winger missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, including the team’s 2-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks this past Saturday. It still hasn’t been reported how Tarasenko was hurt. While there’s optimism about his health, it’s unknown if Tarasenko will be good to go when the Wild take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
Prior to the injury, the 33-year-old had a solid start to the new year with his new team, scoring two goals and eight assists for 10 points.
The Wild (9-7-4) is scheduled to host the Hurricanes ot 9:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
