Danila Yurov's first career NHL goal proved the game-winner as the Minnesota Wild (3-3-1) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Monday night.

After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period, the Wild tied it on Jonas Brodin's first goal of the season. From then on, Minnesota outplayed the Rangers the rest of the night.

"We know we're a good team, but we're a team that has to play as a team and we need to play a certain way, the way that we're built," Wild head coach John Hynes said. "We were committed to that."

Yurov, who made his NHL debut with the Wild just five games ago, scored the winning goal at 8:16 of the third period as Rangers goalie Igo Shesterkin was out of position after losing his stick.

"Yesterday, I had dinner with my agent, he's also the agent for Shesterkin," Yurov told reporters afterward. "I told him I'll score on Igor."

He did, fulfilling his childhood dream to score in the NHL. No less, at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

"I just see the puck drop in front of the goalie and I go five-hole," Yurov continued. "I'm happy to be here, to score first goal. Finally, it's happened. This is my dream. … I'm so happy."

Kirill Kaprizov scored on an empty net to seal the victory. It was his fifth goal of the season, giving him 10 points through seven games.

The Wild finish off their five-game road trip at New Jersey Wednesday at 6 p.m. Then they return to St. Paul for six consecutive home games, beginning Saturday against Utah.
