The Winnipeg Jets have made a move on NHL Trade Deadline day. Willing to take a chance on Zach Sanford, the Jets have acquired Sanford from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick,  according to Darren Dreger of TSN . Sanford is best described as defensive bottom-six winger. He’s spent time with the Senators, St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals.

Sanford is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. He has played in 62 games and has nine goals and eight assists for 17 points this season. He is a bigger body who plays a physical game.

The Winnipeg Jets moved Nathan Beaulieu in an earlier move and are expected to trade Andrew Copp prior to the deadline coming and going. They also moved Bryan Little’s contract, traded Nathan Smith and brought in Mason Appleton.
