Olympics Star Ilona Maher Announces Family Business Move

The United States women's rugby sevens team became national sensations during the Olympic games in Paris last summer. Ilona Maher was the breakout star of the team after going viral on social media.

Maher met several celebrities during and after her trip to Paris last year, and she recently finished as the runner-up in the most recent season of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

On Thursday, Maher made another major announcement and involved her family.

The Olympic bronze medalist is starting a podcast with her sisters, Olivia and Adrianna.

"House of Maher" is set to debut on March 25 and the three sisters will discuss a variety of topics, including Ilona's career and events in pop culture. The podcast will also feature special guests.

Maher's show will be on the Wave Sports & Entertainment network, which hosts several other prominent podcasts like the Kelce brothers' "New Heights", Paul George's "Podcast P" and Kylie Kelce's "Not Gonna Lie."

“Ilona, Olivia, and Adrianna are already fan favorites due to their authentic and entertaining social media presence, and we’re excited to give fans an even closer look into their crazy but relatable world with this new digital series," said Tunde St. Matthew-Daniel, Wave's executive vice president.

Maher helped lead the United States to a bronze medal in rugby sevens, the first time an American team was able to reach the podium in the event. She scored in all three of the team's group stage matches.

Maher plays professionally for the Bristol Bears of the Premiership Women's Rugby league in England. She made her debut for the Bears in January, and her debut game was moved to a larger stadium to bring in more fans.

Maher has nearly five million followers on Instagram and is the world's most followed rugby player. The rugby star also posed for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and was featured on the magazine's cover.

The United States will look to repeat its performance as medalists when the Olympics are held on home soil in 2028 in Los Angeles. We'll see if Maher is on the 2028 Olympic team, but for now she's staying busy with her family on her new podcast.
