Slovakia's Juraj Slafkovsky voted MVP of men's ice hockey tournament at Olympics

Juraj Slafkovsky still has two years left of being a teenager, yet he just added one of the more prestigious honors one can achieve on the international ice hockey stage.

Slafkovsky led Team Slovakia to the bronze medal with a 4-0 shutout over Sweden on Saturday, scoring a pair of goals. Slafkovsky finished the Games with seven goals in seven contests played.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Games were the first Olympics for the 17-year-old. Slafkovsky took part in the IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), the Ice Hockey World Championships (WC) and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup (HG18) in 2021 alone, all for Slovakia.

The team finished eighth in both the WJC and WC, while earning the silver medal in the HG18. During the team's silver-medal run last year, Slafkovsky scored recorded nine points on three goals and six assists across five games.
