American skier Breezy Johnson will never forget the week she just had at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games.

Johnson kicked off this week by winning gold for Team USA in the women's downhill, becoming just the second American athlete ever to win this event. It was quite the accomplishment for her considering she didn't medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games and missed the 2022 Beijing Games due to injury.

"I had a good feeling about today. I sort of still can't believe it yet, so I don't know when it'll sink in," Johnson said. "I knew I had to push. I knew I had to go harder than I did in training. I had to be super clean, and I felt like I did that. I got a little bit squirrely off of some of the jumps, but I tried to just keep it rolling and I knew the speeds were good. I just hoped it would be enough."

Just four days after claiming her first Olympic medal, Johnson got engaged to her boyfriend, Connor Watkins. He proposed to her following her final race in Cortina D’Ampezzo. It was an awesome scene that you might not witness again at the Olympics.

"Hey guys... meet Connor! My ex boyfriend! And current fiancé," she wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone who made this moment possible. It was everything I ever dreamed of. Kind of like Connor!"

Congratulations pouring in for Breezy Johnson.

Immediately after Johnson went public with her engagement, countless celebrities and brands sent her kind messages on social media.

"So happy for you two," Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn wrote. "What a week!!"

"Strong move. Locked it in! Best wishes to you two," American skier and TV presenter Jonny Moseley said.

"Your love is taking you to new heights! Congrats," Delta Air Lines wrote.

"Bringing home more than just gold now," Coca-Cola commented. "Congratulations."

Johnson even received this message from Taylor Swift: "'Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me' CONGRATULATIONS!!!"

We're certainly wishing the newly engaged couple all the best.
