United States Women's National Team defender Tierna Davidson is going to be out for a while.

Davidson is out indefinitely with a torn ACL in her left knee. She suffered the injury while playing for NJ/NY Gotham FC against the Houston Dash in the NWSL last Friday.

NJ/NY Gotham FC general manager Yael Averbuch West is "heartbroken" for Davidson but knows she's going to come back even stronger for next season.

"We are heartbroken for Tierna," Averbuch West said, via ESPN. "Our club will do everything we can to support her through this recovery and rehabilitation process. We know she will come back stronger than ever."

This is Davidson's second torn ACL since 2022. She tore her ACL in her right knee in 2022 before tearing the one in her left knee last week.

Despite missing the 2023 World Cup with an ACL injury, Davidson returned and helped Team USA capture a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was a center back for the team and played great under new USWNT head coach Emma Hayes.

Davidson has made 65 appearances for the USWNT over her career, scoring three goals and seven assists.

The USWNT will be back in action in a few days on April 5 in an international friendly against Brazil. The two countries will face off again in another friendly on April 8 before the USWNT plays China in a friendly on May 31 and June 3.

The two friendlies in the next week will be in California.

We wish Davidson the best in her recovery from her season-ending injury.
