Poll: Majority of Americans won't attend sporting events until coronavirus vaccine developed

Well, we can't say we blame the many people who said they won't attend sporting events until a coronavirus vaccine is developed.

According to a new poll, 72% of Americans said that if leagues resumed play before a COVID-19 vaccine was developed that they wouldn't attend games, via Seton Hall's Rick Gentile.

However, if social distancing could be maintained, then 12% said they'd attend games and just 13% said they'd feel safe attending games normally like in the past.

It'd be pretty hard for social distancing to be maintained in sports, unless they limited the amount of fans in arenas/stadiums, but even that would be highly questionable.

The NBA, NHL, MLS and MLB have no set return date, and the start of the 2020 NFL season also may need to be pushed back for the safety of players, staff and fans.

While some are predicted that sports could possibly resume in the summer months or the beginning of fall, that might not necessarily be the case. But if that's the truth, then we're in for a brutal summer and beyond.
