ICYMI, we touched on some NBA Finals series-long props in yesterday's edition of Bark Bets. We turn now to the ice to find us some value investments in the series-long markets that we can root on each and every night.
Edmonton-Florida should be a lot of fun
Most goals in series: Sam Bennett (+3000 DraftKings)
This Oilers-Panthers series is just an absolute beauty of a Stanley Cup Final matchup, and if you haven't yet tuned in to hockey this year, now is the time. We have two explosive offenses and star talent littered throughout.
In what some expect to be a high-scoring series, we like going down the ladder a bit to find us who may lead the series in goals scored.
Sam Bennett for Florida has come alive. He has goals in three straight games and had four total last round. He's got some awesome history against the Oilers for good measure, scoring five goals across his last six meetings, including both games this year.
At 30-1, get yourself some Sam Bennett stock.
Gustav Forsling to record 2+ shots in every game (+650 FanDuel)
Rather than back Florida's Forsling to get his shots every night, this alternative approach could be the move at +650. Forsling has been automatic for the Panthers of late, logging 2+ shots in 11 straight games and 14 of 17 this postseason.
Eleven straight games with 2+ shots, and he's gone for 3+ in four of his last five. The defenseman's volume has been superb and he should continue finding lanes to operate. Sign us up at this price.
In the news ...
Kristaps Porzingis on track to return for NBA Finals — The Celtics have been without big man Kristaps Porzingis since the first round, but he's set to return for Game 1 on Thursday. While Boston easily handled the East without KP, his presence is a big boost for their title chances against Luka Doncic and Dallas, the best team the Celtics will have played this postseason. All indications suggest Porzingis should be returning to the starting lineup, which has Boston sitting pretty as six-point favorites at home.
Cavaliers next head coach seems to be down to two candidates — The Cleveland Cavaliers had fired J.B. Bickerstaff following their second-round loss last month, and their next head coach search seems to be winding down. According to Brian Windhorst, it appears the next coach will either be Kenny Atkinson or James Borrego, who both bring more of an offensive focus to their gameplan. Whoever they hire, the team will hope to get Donovan Mitchell's approval and solidify a long-term contract extension with the star guard.
Men's French Open will have semis set by tomorrow — By the time this hits your inbox, we should know who advanced between Grigor Dimitrov and Jannik Sinner, and early this afternoon will bring with it a big match between No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 9 Stefanos Tsitsipas (betting preview can be found here). Despite a nagging knee injury, Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarters yesterday and broke the record for most match wins ever at major tournaments with 370. Djokovic is set to square off with No. 7 Casper Ruud tonight at midnight ET, but some concerns about his knee are currently keeping odds off the board.
