In the news ...

Xander Schauffele wins second straight major — After being known as the guy who couldn't get over the hump, Xander Schauffele has quickly reinvented his image, solidifying himself as one of the most clutch golfers on tour. Schauffele took home a three-stroke win at The Open yesterday thanks to a 65, his second-straight major win. Schauffele will now turn his attention to the Olympics, which starts next Thursday. Schauffele, one of four Americans in the field, is +600 to win.

Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2024 inducted on Sunday — On Sunday, Adrian Beltre, Todd Helton, Joe Mauer and Jim Leyland received their formal inductions into Cooperstown as the Hall of Fame's Class of 2024. A loaded class. Beltre was one of the league's best two-way players, Helton was known for his big hits in big moments, Mauer struck out only once in high school before being drafted by the Twins, and Leyland coached for one of the longest stretches in baseball history.

Celtics continue to lock down championship-winning roster for long-term — The Boston Celtics just keep on locking down contributors from their NBA Finals run this past season, signing wing Sam Hauser to a four-year, $45 million deal. Hauser joins Jayson Tatum and Derrick White as Celtics who have signed extensions this summer, plus Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are all locked up to long-term deals as well. Boston is the understandable favorite to win it all next season at +295, and with the team back together, there's every reason to expect a strong repeat bid.

Quick Picks

1 Jarren Duran over 1.5 total bases

Boston's Duran is absolutely rolling. He has 3+ total bases in five straight games, recording 2+ hits each time. That's a streak we'll gladly back today.

Latest Odds:  -140
2 Bobby Witt Jr. over 1.5 total bases

Speaking of surging hitters, Kansas City's Bobby Witt Jr. is on fire. He's logged three straight games with three hits, and as such, three straight games with 3+ total bases. He's over this line in 11 of his last 15 games and should just keep it going today.

Latest Odds:  -150
3 Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Guardians

We'll gladly back the Tigers to notch a win when they've got Tarik Skubal on the rubber, and such is the situation we have on our hands today. Carlos Carrasco, on the other end, sports a 5.02 ERA and 3-7 record, so while the Guardians are the better team, give us Detroit's moneyline at -125 today.
Monday, 6:40 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Tigers
-1 (-107) -130 > 7 (-118)
Guardians
+1.5 (-162) +117 < 7 (-120)
4 Philadelphia Phillies @ Minnesota Twins

This seems relatively straightforward to us. On one end is one of baseball's best teams in the Phillies, who have Ranger Suarez on the bump (2.76 ERA). On the other, a Minnesota team that has dropped three straight and Bailey Ober going (4.14 ERA). We're on the Phillies to win at -115.
Monday, 7:40 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Phillies
+1.5 (-250) -114 > 8 (-115)
Twins
+1.5 (-164) -102 < 8 (-125)
