PWHL Vancouver continued to put the finishing touches on their roster on Friday, signing forward Brooke McQuigge to a one-year contract for the club’s inaugural 2025-26 season.

McQuigge becomes the latest player to join PWHL Vancouver from the Walter Cup champion Minnesota Frost, following fellow forward Denisa Křížová as well as defenders Claire Thompson and Sophie Jacques in making the move from Minnesota to British Columbus.

The 25-year-old joined PWHL Minnesota as their fourth-round pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft, and finished her debut season tied for third in scoring among PWHL rookies with eight goals and 15 points across 29 games. In the Walter Cup Playoffs, she added two goals and three points, helping the Frost win back-to-back titles.

Prior to her professional career, McQuigge was a standout with the Clarkson University Golden Knights, where she netted 53 goals and 111 points in 162 games, after previously representing Team Canada at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships in 2017 and 2018.

Vancouver selected McQuigge with the fourth pick of the 2025 PWHL Expansion Draft.

“Brooke is a physical and gritty two-way forward,”  PWHL Vancouver General Manager Cara Gardner Morey said in a team release. “She makes it tough on opponents every shift, and goalies know that she will go to the hard areas to score goals. We’re excited to have her make a big impact on the ice and in the locker room.”

Added McQuigge: “I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to help bring professional women’s hockey to Vancouver. It is an honour to be part of this historic moment, and I cannot wait to get started with such a great group of teammates, staff and fans.”

While the schedule for the 2025-26 PWHL season has yet to be released, McQuigge joins a highly-touted Vancouver forward group featuring Sarah Nurse, Jenn Gardiner, Hannah Miller, Michela Cava and Tereza Vanišová, among others, which will hope to outduel PWHL Seattle as expansion teams and challenge for the Walter Cup.
