Bobby Petrino not ready to name Arkansas' starting QB vs. Missouri

Arkansas interim head coach Bobby Petrino won't be tipping his hand as to who the Razorbacks' starting quarterback will be for Saturday's matchup against No. 22 Missouri. 

As Arkansas (2-9, 0-7 SEC) prepares to take on the Tigers (7-4, 3-4) in the Battle Line Rivalry, Petrino hasn't decided on who will lead the Hogs in the final game of the 2025 season — or if he has made a decision, he won't be telling anyone anytime soon. 

"Oh no, not yet," Petrino said on Monday when asked if he was planning to start senior Taylen Green or redshirt freshman KJ Jackson at QB on Saturday. "We gotta play it out in practice, make sure everybody is in good shape. And we probably won't even announce it. We'll just work it and see who's ready to go." 

Should Arkansas start Taylen Green or KJ Jackson?

Green has been Arkansas's starting quarterback since the beginning of the 2024 season, but was pulled during the third quarter of Arkansas's 52-37 loss to Texas on Nov. 22 after a bizarre turnover and a subsequently reported hamstring injury. 

Meanwhile, Jackson took over for Green and threw for over 200 yards and a score, adding another touchdown on the ground. Seeing as Jackson could be the future of the quarterback position in Fayetteville, it might make more sense to start him - but seeing as Green, a two-year veteran, is playing in his last collegiate home game on Saturday, the choice will likely be a difficult one for Petrino.
