Miles Bridges, Colin Sexton help Hornets snap Raptors' winning streak

Heading into Saturday night, the Toronto Raptors had the NBA's second-longest winning streak at nine games.

That no longer remains the case as the Charlotte Hornets shocked Toronto in overtime with a 118-111 overtime win.

Miles Bridges' clutch overtime performance

Charlotte outscored Toronto 14-7 in overtime, and that was headlined by veteran forward Miles Bridges.

After being held scoreless in the first quarter, Bridges finished the game with 35 points, including 10 in overtime. Bridges' go-ahead basket with 3:30 gave the Hornets a 109-106 lead, the first lead of the entire game for his squad.

Collin Sexton's bench contribution

Veteran point guard Collin Sexton carried the load for the Charlotte bench, pouring in 18 of the 34 bench points scored on the night for the Hornets.

No LaMelo Ball, no problem

Star point guard LaMelo Ball tallied just 22 minutes, his fewest in a game this season. Ball exited the game with 8:31 remaining in the first quarter and did not return.

His 14 points were his second fewest in a game this season, just three less than the 11 he scored Wednesday.

Something to build on for the Hornets?

After wins on both Friday and Saturday, Charlotte has now won consecutive games for the first time this season.

It'll get a chance to add to that on Monday with a matchup against the 3-15 Brooklyn Nets. A win in that game would set the Hornets up with games against both the New York Knicks and Raptors twice in as many weeks.

A young and desperate Charlotte team with a bit of momentum and belief could spark an early-season turnaround and get it back on track for an NBA play-in berth.
