The LSU Tigers just picked up one of the biggest commitments of the 2026 recruiting cycle. Brian Kelly and his staff beat out some stiff competition as well.
It was reported on Thursday afternoon that Lamar Brown, a five-star defensive lineman from Baton Rouge committed to the Tigers.
He had opportunities all over the country and a top grouping of Texas A&M, Texas and Miami alongside LSU, but the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder ultimately decided to stay home.

This is a massive commitment for LSU. Losing a top target from right under his nose would have been tough for Kelly to come back from in this 2026 cycle.
Not only that, but Brown legitimately profiles as a star. He's ranked as the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 5 recruit overall. He could play both sides of the ball, but he'll be best suited on the defensive line in college. With that said, he is a three-time MaxPreps All-American as an offensive lineman.
Whatever he does end up playing at LSU, he's a huge recruiting pickup for Kelly and the Tigers.
LSU's 2026 class is now ranked No. 7 in the nation with Brown being its 16th commitment.
