Last year, Yardbarker used an online version of the Magic 8 Ball to predict Dak Prescott’s new contract…but forgot to ask about the quarterback’s hamstring. Let’s see what the classic toy thinks about the 2025 Dallas Cowboys.
Will the Cowboys win Super Bowl LX?
Magic 8 Ball says: Yes.
First, the Magic 8 Ball asked us to “concentrate and ask again,” but our second shake gave the only answer Dallas wants to hear. Dallas has the 18th-best odds (+5000) to bring home a sixth Lombardi Trophy, but Cowboys fans are in no position to argue.
The Cowboys haven’t played in a Super Bowl since 1996 when head coach Barry Switzer beat Bill Cowher’s Steelers 27-17 at Sun Devil Stadium. Since then, the team has made 13 playoff appearances without ever playing for the NFC championship.
Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, who’s been critical of his former team in recent years, even picked the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl on "Good Morning America." Then again, he did wear No. 8.

Will Micah Parsons get a contract extension before the start of the regular season?
Magic 8 Ball says: It is decidedly so.
That’s great news for the 26-year-old linebacker and better news for Dallas fans who have grown accustomed to watching their new team captain average 13.1 sacks per season on his way to four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro nominations.
Of course, that doesn’t mean a deal is imminent. Last year, team owner/general manager Jerry Jones made wide receiver CeeDee Lamb wait until late August to sign a four-year, $136M extension and gave Prescott a four-year, $240M deal hours before the team’s Week 1 matchup with the Browns.
Parsons is scheduled to make $24M in 2024, but many believe a new deal could pay him upward of $40M per season. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said he expects Parsons to become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history, but we have no idea which novelty item he uses to make predictions.
Will the Cowboys beat the Eagles in Week 1?
Magic 8 Ball says: Cannot predict now.
Obviously, the Magic 8 Ball has concerns about Prescott’s record against rival Philadelphia. While 9-4 against the Eagles in his career, the quarterback is 3-3 against them at Lincoln Financial Field. More importantly, Prescott is 4-5 in opening day starts.
This year, his Cowboys open the NFL’s 2025 regular season on the road against the Eagles on "Thursday Night Football." That’s quite a stage for a player coming back from a serious hamstring injury and a big test for new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, the team’s former offensive coordinator.
Kickoff is set for Sept. 4 at 8:20 p.m. ET, so the Magic 8 Ball has time to make up its mind.
