Jalen Brunson sinks game-winner to complete Knicks' 15-point comeback

There is a reason that New York Knicks superstar point guard Jalen Brunson is considered "Mr. Fourth Quarter."

Fresh off winning the NBA Emirates Cup MVP, Brunson was up to his usual antics on Thursday night. Despite scoring just five fourth-quarter points, he capped off the night with the biggest shot of the game.

New York trailed the Indiana Pacers by as many as 15 points midway through the third quarter. That deficit was erased by the early stages of the fourth quarter, though, making for an exciting finish.

A side out of bounds set Brunson and the Knicks up for a potential game-winning shot and Mr. Fourth Quarter delivered. Brunson sank a three-pointer, giving New York a 114-113 lead with just 4.4 seconds remaining. The following possession for Indiana saw the inbound pass stolen by OG Anunoby, securing the win for the Knicks.

MVP type season?

After his 25-point performance on Thursday, Brunson's season average sits at 28.8 points per game, good for seventh best in the NBA. If it weren't the stellar seasons being had by Luca Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and others are having, Brunson would be at the forefront of MVP conversations.

New York will certainly need Brunson to maintain his MYP level play if it has hopes of tracking down the Detroit Pistons and secure the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
