Shedeur Sanders endured one of the most stunning draft slides in NFL history last month, but the former Colorado star's confidence remains fully intact.
Sanders has joined a crowded quarterback room after the Cleveland Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Though he slid further down the board than almost anyone anticipated, he still has an opportunity to compete for a starting job. It sounds like he has big plans to capitalize on that opportunity.
In a video the Browns posted on Monday, Sanders spoke about how fans in Cleveland need something to be hopeful about. He said he intends to reverse the franchise's recent misfortunes.
"Really, I feel like the Browns fans just want something to hope for. They've been wanting it for so long and long. So, finally, you know, I'm here to change that. I'm here to actually give what they want," Sanders said.

Sanders was not even the first quarterback the Browns drafted this year, as they also took former Oregon star Dillon Gabriel in the third round. Cleveland's brass was apparently more impressed with Gabriel during the pre-draft process.
That leaves Sanders facing an uphill battle to beat out Gabriel, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett. Not only does he think he can do that at some point, but he believes he will finally help break a cycle of torment for Browns fans.
